In today's dynamic work environment, leadership has become an important factor in determining how productive employees are. Various styles of leadership within an organization can have either positive or negative effects on motivation, engagement, and thus output levels for the workforce. Different approaches to decision making, communication, and interaction with employees characterize various leadership styles and can have varying degrees of influence on productivity within the workforce. This exploration will investigate the different types of leadership styles and their impacts on employee productivity. We shall discuss how such approaches as transformational, democratic, servant, autocratic, and laissez-faire leadership can either be a boost or a hindrance to employee performance. We shall also consider how communication, work environment, and employee engagement impact productivity under the different leadership styles.
